Delete your CaloriSync account

1Delete from inside the app (recommended)

The fastest way — deletion runs immediately, and you don't need to prove your identity because you're already signed in.

1. Open CaloriSync on your phone.
2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom bar.
3. Tap Privacy & Data.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
5. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete permanently.
6. Confirm your sign-in one more time (a re-authentication step for safety).

Once you confirm, our backend runs a cascade delete across every table tied to your account, and the app signs out and destroys your Google / phone sign-in identity. There is no recovery after this point.

2Delete by email (if you can't access the app)

If you've lost access to your device or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete your account for you.

1. Email support@calorisync.com from the email address you signed up with (or include the phone number you signed up with, if you used phone sign-in).
2. Use the subject line: Delete my CaloriSync account.
3. We'll verify your identity by matching the sender email / phone against our records, then reply to confirm deletion is scheduled.
4. We complete deletion within 7 days and send a final confirmation.

3What gets deleted

The following data is erased immediately — permanently and irreversibly:

• Profile: name, email, phone, age, sex, height, weight, goals, dietary preferences, allergies, health flags.
• Food logs: every meal, portion, and food-log entry you've ever created.
• Wellness logs: weight entries, water intake, sleep, mood, and other health metrics.
• Recipes: custom recipes you've saved.
• AI scan history: photos you scanned and the detections our AI produced.
• Kai coach conversations: every message, both yours and the assistant's.
• Meal plans: AI-generated meal plans and shopping lists.
• Voice transcripts: anything you dictated into the app.
• Subscription state: internal records of your subscription status (the underlying purchase record on the Play Store or App Store is managed by Google / Apple, not by us — cancel there separately if you have an active subscription).
• Sign-in identity: your Firebase Auth account is destroyed at the same time, so the same Google or phone can create a fresh account later without any leftover data.
• Locally cached data: everything the app stored on your device (offline logs, cached photos, keychain tokens) is wiped as part of the same flow.

4What we retain, and why

A small amount of data is retained after deletion — only what we are legally required to keep, and only for as long as the law requires. None of it can be used to contact you or personalize a future account.

• Consent audit log — a record that you gave and then withdrew consent, tied to a stable internal ID (not your name or email). Required as regulatory proof under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
• Billing and tax records — invoices and transaction records tied to any paid subscription, retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically 6–8 years).
• Rolling backups — encrypted database backups may contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion before they roll off. They are not accessible to product code and are automatically purged.
• Aggregate analytics — anonymized, non-identifying counts (e.g. "N users scanned a meal today") that cannot be traced back to you.

5Timeline

• In-app deletion: your data is erased from live databases within 24 hours (usually within seconds of confirmation).
• Email-request deletion: within 7 days of us verifying your request.
• Backups: up to 30 days for encrypted rolling backups to age out.
• Legally retained records (consent log, billing): as noted above.
